About Me

As a professional philosopher with a Ph.D. in Philosophy (Middle East Technical University, 1996), my work integrates research, teaching, writing, mindfulness, and transformative practices.

While my scholarly focus is rooted in environmental philosophy and justice, I am equally passionate about practical philosophy and mindfulness, exploring how meditation enhances agency and reshapes our sense of self.

One of my most profound experiences was leading an 8-week mindfulness seminar in a state prison in Massachusetts. I witnessed the transformative impact of philosophy in helping participants uncover their innate agency and reshape their sense of self. This experience deepened my commitment to making philosophy accessible to all, extending beyond traditional academic settings.

Through public lectures, high school workshops, online counseling, and "meditation for all" initiatives, I strive to bring philosophy back to its roots—as a practical and transformative guide for everyday life, free from the confines of academia, much like it was in ancient times.

My approach is rooted in person-centered and existential modalities, guiding clients to deepen self-reflection, uncover their strengths, and foster personal and professional growth. Drawing inspiration from the timeless wisdom of great thinkers from both East and West, I embrace philosophy as a way of life—a practical and empowering tool to navigate challenges and live with purpose.

I invite you to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery, mindfulness, and empowerment, where philosophy becomes a dynamic resource for creating a thoughtful, meaningful, and fulfilling life.
